St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School opened in August 1996. Classes
were originally held in modular buildings located on the Northwest corner of the
property. The education facility was completed in February 1998.
Students and staff made the move from the modulars to the education facility and
completed the 1997 - 1998 school year in the facility. In the fall of 1998
the middle school was opened with the first sixth grade class. May 25,
2001 the first graduation at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was held. 17 students
made up the first SEAS School alumni. This group expanded to 40 with the
May 30, 2002 graduation.
During the first six years our goals have been met through the efforts of the
dedicated faculty, staff, School Board, and parents of SEAS Catholic
School. The science and computer labs are well stocked with modern
equipment and are fully operational. The library has grown from two
portable carts of books to a full service education center, meeting the needs of
students and adults. The classrooms and ancillary programs are well
equipped with manipulatives and equipment necessary to enhance the instructional
programs. Teachers are allotted $100 each year to attend inservice
workshops of particular interest, in addition to professional growth
requirements and school-sponsored inservices.
Opportunities for prayer, spiritual growth and service to the community have
expanded for both students and staff. Students are active participants in
the weekly school masses and all prayer services. Each month the entire
school participates in the Catholic Traditions program, expanding both mind and
heart, as the history of our Catholic faith is shared. Service projects
are incorporated throughout the year on the parish, local community, and global
levels. Staff are invited to join in prayer each morning and all
faculty/staff meetings begin in prayer.
Currently, SEAS Catholic School is expanding technology through the development
of a website and addition of the Grade Quick and Administrators Plus
Program. The Faculty attended training on Grade Quick in August
2002. The office and clinic personnel are utilizing the Administrators
Plus Program. The School Board is proactive in planning for the future
through budgeting. A technology committee has been formed with faculty and
parent representation.
